호세아13장

1에브라임이 말을 발하면 사람이 떨었도다 저가 이스라엘 중에서 자기를 높이더니 바알로 인하여 범죄하므로 망하였거늘

2이제도 저희가 더욱 범죄하여 그 은으로 자기를 위하여 우상을 부어 만들되 자기의 공교함을 따라 우상을 만들었으며 그것은 다 장색이 만든 것이어늘 저희가 그것에 대하여 말하기를 제사를 드리는 자는 송아지의 입을 맞출 것이라 하도다

3이러므로 저희는 아침 구름 같으며 쉽게 사라지는 이슬 같으며 타작 마당에서 광풍에 날리우는 쭉정이 같으며 굴뚝에서 나가는 연기 같으리라

4그러나 네가 애굽 땅에서 나옴으로부터 나는 네 하나님 여호와라 나 밖에 네가 다른 신을 알지 말것이라 나 외에는 구원자가 없느니라

5내가 광야 마른 땅에서 너를 권고하였거늘

6저희가 먹이운대로 배부르며 배부름으로 마음이 교만하며 이로 인하여 나를 잊었느니라

7그러므로 내가 저희에게 사자 같고 길 가에서 기다리는 표범 같으니라

8내가 새끼 잃은 곰 같이 저희를 만나 그 염통 꺼풀을 찢고 거기서 암사자 같이 저희를 삼키리라 들짐승이 저희를 찢으리라

9이스라엘아 네가 패망하였나니 이는 너를 도와주는 나를 대적함이니라

10전에 네가 이르기를 내게 왕과 방백들을 주소서 하였느니라 네 모든 성읍에서 너를 구원할 자 네 왕이 이제 어디 있으며 네 재판장들이 어디 있느냐

11내가 분노하므로 네게 왕을 주고 진노하므로 폐하였노라

12에브라임의 불의가 봉함되었고 그 죄가 저장되었나니

13해산하는 여인의 어려움이 저에게 임하리라 저는 어리석은 자식이로다 때가 임하였나니 산문에서 지체할 것이 아니니라

14내가 저희를 음부의 권세에서 속량하며 사망에서 구속하리니 사망아 네 재앙이 어디 있느냐 음부야 네 멸망이 어디 있느냐 뉘우침이 내 목전에 숨으리라

15저가 비록 형제 중에서 결실하나 동풍이 오리니 곧 광야에서 일어나는 여호와의 바람이라 그 근원이 마르며 그 샘이 마르고 그 적축한바 모든 보배의 그릇이 약탈되리로다

16사마리아가 그 하나님을 배반하였으므로 형벌을 당하여 칼에 엎드러질 것이요 그 어린 아이는 부숴뜨리우며 그 아이 밴 여인은 배가 갈리우리라

호세아14장

1이스라엘아 네 하나님 여호와께로 돌아 오라 네가 불의함을 인하여 엎드러졌느니라

2너는 말씀을 가지고 여호와께로 돌아 와서 아뢰기를 모든 불의를 제하시고 선한바를 받으소서 우리가 입술로 수송아지를 대신하여 주께 드리리이다

3우리가 앗수르의 구원을 의지하지 아니하며 말을 타지 아니하며 다시는 우리의 손으로 지은 것을 향하여 너희는 우리 신이라 하지 아니하오리니 이는 고아가 주께로 말미암아 긍휼을 얻음이니이다 할찌니라

4내가 저희의 패역을 고치고 즐거이 저희를 사랑하리니 나의 진노가 저에게서 떠났음이니라

5내가 이스라엘에게 이슬과 같으리니 저가 백합화 같이 피겠고 레바논 백향목 같이 뿌리가 박힐 것이라

6그 가지는 퍼지며 그 아름다움은 감람나무와 같고 그 향기는 레바논 백향목 같으리니

7그 그늘 아래 거하는 자가 돌아올찌라 저희는 곡식 같이 소성할 것이며 포도나무 같이 꽃이 필 것이며 그 향기는 레바논의 포도주 같이 되리라

8에브라임의 말이 내가 다시 우상과 무슨 상관이 있으리요 할찌라 내가 저를 돌아 보아 대답하기를 나는 푸른 잣나무 같으니 네가 나로 말미암아 열매를 얻으리라 하리라

9누가 지혜가 있어 이런 일을 깨달으며 누가 총명이 있어 이런 일을 알겠느냐 여호와의 도는 정직하니 의인이라야 그 도에 행하리라 그러나 죄인은 그 도에 거쳐 넘어지리라

Hosea13

1When Ephraim spoke, men trembled; he was exalted in Israel. But he became guilty of Baal worship and died.

2Now they sin more and more; they make idols for themselves from their silver, cleverly fashioned images, all of them the work of craftsmen. It is said of these people, 'They offer human sacrifice and kiss the calf-idols.'

3Therefore they will be like the morning mist, like the early dew that disappears, like chaff swirling from a threshing floor, like smoke escaping through a window.

4'But I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt. You shall acknowledge no God but me, no Savior except me.

5I cared for you in the desert, in the land of burning heat.

6When I fed them, they were satisfied; when they were satisfied, they became proud; then they forgot me.

7So I will come upon them like a lion, like a leopard I will lurk by the path.

8Like a bear robbed of her cubs, I will attack them and rip them open. Like a lion I will devour them; a wild animal will tear them apart.

9'You are destroyed, O Israel, because you are against me, against your helper.

10Where is your king, that he may save you? Where are your rulers in all your towns, of whom you said, 'Give me a king and princes'?

11So in my anger I gave you a king, and in my wrath I took him away.

12The guilt of Ephraim is stored up, his sins are kept on record.

13Pains as of a woman in childbirth come to him, but he is a child without wisdom; when the time arrives, he does not come to the opening of the womb.

14'I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death. Where, O death, are your plagues? Where, O grave, is your destruction? 'I will have no compassion,

15even though he thrives among his brothers. An east wind from the LORD will come, blowing in from the desert; his spring will fail and his well dry up. His storehouse will be plundered of all its treasures.

16The people of Samaria must bear their guilt, because they have rebelled against their God. They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their pregnant women ripped open.'

Hosea14

1Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God. Your sins have been your downfall!

2Take words with you and return to the LORD. Say to him: 'Forgive all our sins and receive us graciously, that we may offer the fruit of our lips.

3Assyria cannot save us; we will not mount war-horses. We will never again say 'Our gods' to what our own hands have made, for in you the fatherless find compassion."

4'I will heal their waywardness and love them freely, for my anger has turned away from them.

5I will be like the dew to Israel; he will blossom like a lily. Like a cedar of Lebanon he will send down his roots;

6his young shoots will grow. His splendor will be like an olive tree, his fragrance like a cedar of Lebanon.

7Men will dwell again in his shade. He will flourish like the grain. He will blossom like a vine, and his fame will be like the wine from Lebanon.

8O Ephraim, what more have I to do with idols? I will answer him and care for him. I am like a green pine tree; your fruitfulness comes from me.'

9Who is wise? He will realize these things. Who is discerning? He will understand them. The ways of the LORD are right; the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them.
