Daniel and the Lion's Den
다니엘6장
1다리오가 자기의 심원대로 방백 일백 이십명을 세워 전국을 통치하게 하고
2또 그들 위에 총리 셋을 두었으니 다니엘이 그 중에 하나이라 이는 방백들로 총리에게 자기의 직무를 보고하게 하여 왕에게 손해가 없게 하려함이었더라
3다니엘은 마음이 민첩하여 총리들과 방백들 위에 뛰어나므로 왕이 그를 세워 전국을 다스리게 하고자 한지라
4이에 총리들과 방백들이 국사에 대하여 다니엘을 고소할 틈을 얻고자 하였으나 능히 아무 틈, 아무 허물을 얻지 못하였으니 이는 그가 충성되어 아무 그릇함도 없고 아무 허물도 없음이었더라
5그 사람들이 가로되 이 다니엘은 그 하나님의 율법에 대하여 그 틈을 얻지 못하면 그를 고소할 수 없으리라 하고
6이에 총리들과 방백들이 모여 왕에게 나아가서 그에게 말하되 다리오왕이여 만세수를 하옵소서
7나라의 모든 총리와 수령과 방백과 모사와 관원이 의논하고 왕에게 한 율법을 세우며 한 금령을 정하실 것을 구하려 하였는데 왕이여 그것은 곧 이제부터 삼십일 동안에 누구든지 왕 외에 어느 신에게나 사람에게 무엇을 구하면 사자굴에 던져 넣기로 한 것이니이다
8그런즉 왕이여 원컨대 금령을 세우시고 그 조서에 어인을 찍어서 메대와 바사의 변개치 아니하는 규례를 따라 그것을 다시 고치지 못하게 하옵소서 하매
9이에 다리오왕이 조서에 어인을 찍어 금령을 내니라
10다니엘이 이 조서에 어인이 찍힌 것을 알고도 자기 집에 돌아가서는 그 방의 예루살렘으로 향하여 열린 창에서 전에 행하던대로 하루 세번씩 무릎을 꿇고 기도하며 그 하나님께 감사하였더라
11그 무리들이 모여서 다니엘이 자기 하나님 앞에 기도하며 간구하는 것을 발견하고
12이에 그들이 나아가서 왕의 금령에 대하여 왕께 아뢰되 왕이여 왕이 이미 금령에 어인을 찍어서 이제부터 삼십일 동안에 누구든지 왕 외에 어느 신에게나 사람에게 구하면 사자 굴에 던져 넣기로 하지 아니하였나이까 왕이 대답하여 가로되 이 일이 적실하니 메대와 바사의 변개치 아니하는 규례대로 된 것이니라
13그들이 왕 앞에서 대답하여 가로되 왕이여 사로잡혀 온 유다 자손 중에 그 다니엘이 왕과 왕의 어인이 찍힌 금령을 돌아보지 아니하고 하루 세번씩 기도하나이다
14왕이 이 말을 듣고 그로 인하여 심히 근심하여 다니엘을 구원하려고 마음을 쓰며 그를 건져 내려고 힘을 다하여 해가 질 때까지 이르매
15그 무리들이 또 모여 왕에게로 나아와서 왕께 말씀하되 왕이여 메대와 바사의 규례를 아시거니와 왕의 세우신 금령과 법도는 변개하지 못할 것이니이다
16이에 왕이 명하매 다니엘을 끌어다가 사자 굴에 던져 넣는지라 왕이 다니엘에게 일러 가로되 너의 항상 섬기는 네 하나님이 너를 구원하시리라 하니라
17이에 돌을 굴려다가 굴 아구를 막으매 왕이 어인과 귀인들의 인을 쳐서 봉하였으니 이는 다니엘 처치한 것을 변개함이 없게 하려함이었더라
18왕이 궁에 돌아가서는 밤이 맟도록 금식하고 그 앞에 기악을 그치고 침수를 폐하니라
19이튿날에 왕이 새벽에 일어나 급히 사자굴로 가서
20다니엘의 든 굴에 가까이 이르러는 슬피 소리질러 다니엘에게 물어 가로되 사시는 하나님의 종 다니엘아 너의 항상 섬기는 네 하나님이 사자에게서 너를 구원하시기에 능하셨느냐
21다니엘이 왕에게 고하되 왕이여 원컨대 왕은 만세수를 하옵소서
22나의 하나님이 이미 그 천사를 보내어 사자들의 입을 봉하셨으므로 사자들이 나를 상해치 아니하였사오니 이는 나의 무죄함이 그 앞에 명백함이오며 또 왕이여 나는 왕의 앞에도 해를 끼치지 아니하였나이다
23왕이 심히 기뻐서 명하여 다니엘을 굴에서 올리라 하매 그들이 다니엘을 굴에서 올린즉 그 몸이 조금도 상하지 아니하였으니 이는 그가 자기 하나님을 의뢰함이었더라
24왕이 명을 내려 다니엘을 참소한 사람들을 끌어오게 하고 그들을 그 처자들과 함께 사자 굴에 던져 넣게 하였더니 그들이 굴 밑에 닿기 전에 사자가 곧 그들을 움켜서 그 뼈까지도 부숴뜨렸더라
25이에 다리오왕이 온 땅에 있는 모든 백성과 나라들과 각 방언하는 자들에게 조서를 내려 가로되 원컨대 많은 평강이 너희에게 있을찌어다
26내가 이제 조서를 내리노라 내 나라 관할 아래 있는 사람들은 다 다니엘의 하나님 앞에서 떨며 두려워할찌니 그는 사시는 하나님이시요 영원히 변치 않으실 자시며 그 나라는 망하지 아니할 것이요 그 권세는 무궁할 것이며
27그는 구원도 하시며 건져내기도 하시며 하늘에서든지 땅에서든지 이적과 기사를 행하시는 자로서 다니엘을 구원하여 사자의 입에서 벗어나게 하셨음이니라 하였더라
28이 다니엘이 다리오왕의 시대와 바사 사람 고레스왕의 시대에 형통하였더라
Daniel06
1It pleased Darius to appoint 120 satraps to rule throughout the kingdom,
2with three administrators over them, one of whom was Daniel. The satraps were made accountable to them so that the king might not suffer loss.
3Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.
4At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent.
5Finally these men said, 'We will never find any basis for charges against this man Daniel unless it has something to do with the law of his God.'
6So the administrators and the satraps went as a group to the king and said: 'O King Darius, live forever!
7The royal administrators, prefects, satraps, advisers and governors have all agreed that the king should issue an edict and enforce the decree that anyone who prays to any god or man during the next thirty days, except to you, O king, shall be thrown into the lions' den.
8Now, O king, issue the decree and put it in writing so that it cannot be altered-in accordance with the laws of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be repealed.'
9So King Darius put the decree in writing.
10Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.
11Then these men went as a group and found Daniel praying and asking God for help.
12So they went to the king and spoke to him about his royal decree: "Did you not publish a decree that during the next thirty days anyone who prays to any god or man except to you, O king, would be thrown into the lions' den?" The king answered, "The decree stands-in accordance with the laws of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be repealed."
13Then they said to the king, 'Daniel, who is one of the exiles from Judah, pays no attention to you, O king, or to the decree you put in writing. He still prays three times a day.'
14When the king heard this, he was greatly distressed; he was determined to rescue Daniel and made every effort until sundown to save him.
15Then the men went as a group to the king and said to him, 'Remember, O king, that according to the law of the Medes and Persians no decree or edict that the king issues can be changed.'
16So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions' den. The king said to Daniel, "May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!"
17A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the rings of his nobles, so that Daniel's situation might not be changed.
18Then the king returned to his palace and spent the night without eating and without any entertainment being brought to him. And he could not sleep.
19At the first light of dawn, the king got up and hurried to the lions' den.
20When he came near the den, he called to Daniel in an anguished voice, 'Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?'
21Daniel answered, 'O king, live forever!
22My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, O king.'
23The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.
24At the king's command, the men who had falsely accused Daniel were brought in and thrown into the lions' den, along with their wives and children. And before they reached the floor of the den, the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones.
25Then King Darius wrote to all the peoples, nations and men of every language throughout the land: 'May you prosper greatly!
26'I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel. 'For he is the living God and he endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will never end.
27He rescues and he saves; he performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.'
28So Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

다니엘5장
1벨사살왕이 그 귀인 일천명을 위하여 큰 잔치를 배설하고 그 일천명 앞에서 술을 마시니라
2벨사살이 술을 마실 때에 명하여 그 부친 느부갓네살이 예루살렘 전에서 취하여 온 금, 은 기명을 가져오게 하였으니 이는 왕과 귀인들과 왕후들과 빈궁들이 다 그것으로 마시려 함이었더라
3이에 예루살렘 하나님의 전 성소 중에서 취하여 온 금 기명을 가져오매 왕이 그 귀인들과 왕후들과 빈궁들로 더불어 그것으로 마시고
4무리가 술을 마시고는 그 금, 은, 동, 철, 목, 석으로 만든 신들을 찬양하니라
5그 때에 사람의 손가락이 나타나서 왕궁 촛대 맞은편 분벽에 글자를 쓰는데 왕이 그 글자 쓰는 손가락을 본지라
6이에 왕의 즐기던 빛이 변하고 그 생각이 번민하여 넓적다리 마디가 녹는듯하고 그 무릎이 서로 부딪힌지라
7왕이 크게 소리하여 술객과 갈대아 술사와 점장이를 불러 오게 하고 바벨론 박사들에게 일러 가로되 무론 누구든지 이 글자를 읽고 그 해석을 내게 보이면 자주옷을 입히고 금 사슬로 그 목에 드리우고 그로 나라의 세째 치리자를 삼으리라 하니라
8때에 왕의 박사가 다 들어 왔으나 능히 그 글자를 읽지 못하며 그 해석을 왕께 알게 하지 못하는지라
9그러므로 벨사살왕이 크게 번민하여 그 낯빛이 변하였고 귀인들도 다 놀라니라
10태후가 왕과 그 귀인들의 말로 인하여 잔치하는 궁에 들어 왔더니 이에 말하여 가로되 왕이여 만세수를 하옵소서 왕의 생각을 번민케 말며 낯빛을 변할 것이 아니니이다
11왕의 나라에 거룩한 신들의 영이 있는 사람이 있으니 곧 왕의 부친 때에 있던 자로서 명철과 총명과 지혜가 있어 신들의 지혜와 같은 자라 왕의 부친 느부갓네살왕이 그를 세워 박수와 술객과 갈대아 술사와 점장이의 어른을 삼으셨으니
12왕이 벨드사살이라 이름한 이 다니엘의 마음이 민첩하고 지식과 총명이 있어 능히 꿈을 해석하며 은밀한 말을 밝히며 의문을 파할 수 있었음이라 이제 다니엘을 부르소서 그리하시면 그가 그 해석을 알려드리리이다
13이에 다니엘이 부름을 입어 왕의 앞에 나오매 왕이 다니엘에게 말하여 가로되 네가 우리 부왕이 유다에서 사로잡아 온 유다 자손 중의 그 다니엘이냐
14내가 네게 대하여 들은즉 네 안에는 신들의 영이 있으므로 네가 명철과 총명과 비상한 지혜가 있다 하도다
15지금 여러 박사와 술객을 내 앞에 불러다가 그들로 이 글을 읽고 그 해석을 내게 알게 하라 하였으나 그들이 다 능히 그 해석을 내게 보이지 못하였느니라
16내가 네게 대하여 들은즉 너는 해석을 잘하고 의문을 파한다 하도다 그런즉 이제 네가 이 글을 읽고 그 해석을 내게 알게 하면 네게 자주옷을 입히고 금 사슬을 네 목에 드리우고 너로 나라의 세째 치리자를 삼으리라
17다니엘이 왕에게 대답하여 가로되 왕의 예물은 왕이 스스로 취하시며 왕의 상급은 다른 사람에게 주옵소서 그럴찌라도 내가 왕을 위하여 이 글을 읽으며 그 해석을 아시게 하리이다
18왕이여 지극히 높으신 하나님이 왕의 부친 느부갓네살에게 나라와 큰 권세와 영광과 위엄을 주셨고
19그에게 큰 권세를 주셨으므로 백성들과 나라들과 각 방언하는 자들이 그의 앞에서 떨며 두려워하였으며 그는 임의로 죽이며 임의로 살리며 임의로 높이며 임의로 낮추었더니
20그가 마음이 높아지며 뜻이 강퍅하여 교만을 행하므로 그 왕위가 폐한바 되며 그 영광을 빼앗기고
21인생 중에서 쫓겨나서 그 마음이 들짐승의 마음과 같았고 또 들나귀와 함께 거하며 또 소처럼 풀을 먹으며 그 몸이 하늘 이슬에 젖었으며 지극히 높으신 하나님이 인간 나라를 다스리시며 자기의 뜻대로 누구든지 그 위에 세우시는줄을 알기까지 이르게 되었었나이다
22벨사살이여 왕은 그의 아들이 되어서 이것을 다 알고도 오히려 마음을 낮추지 아니하고
23도리어 스스로 높여서 하늘의 주재를 거역하고 그 전 기명을 왕의 앞으로 가져다가 왕과 귀인들과 왕후들과 빈궁들이 다 그것으로 술을 마시고 왕이 또 보지도 듣지도 알지도 못하는 금, 은, 동, 철과 목, 석으로 만든 신상들을 찬양하고 도리어 왕의 호흡을 주장하시고 왕의 모든 길을 작정하시는 하나님께는 영광을 돌리지 아니한지라
24이러므로 그의 앞에서 이 손가락이 나와서 이 글을 기록하였나이다
25기록한 글자는 이것이니 곧 메네 메네 데겔 우바르신이라
26그 뜻을 해석하건대 메네는 하나님이 이미 왕의 나라의 시대를 세어서 그것을 끝나게 하셨다 함이요
27데겔은 왕이 저울에 달려서 부족함이 뵈었다 함이요
28베레스는 왕의 나라가 나뉘어서 메대와 바사 사람에게 준바 되었다 함이니이다
29이에 벨사살이 명하여 무리로 다니엘에게 자주옷을 입히게 하며 금 사슬로 그의 목에 드리우게 하고 그를 위하여 조서를 내려 나라의 세째 치리자를 삼으니라
30그날 밤에 갈대아왕 벨사살이 죽임을 당하였고
31메대 사람 다리오가 나라를 얻었는데 때에 다리오는 육십 이세였더라
Daniel05
1King Belshazzar gave a great banquet for a thousand of his nobles and drank wine with them.
2While Belshazzar was drinking his wine, he gave orders to bring in the gold and silver goblets that Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, so that the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines might drink from them.
3So they brought in the gold goblets that had been taken from the temple of God in Jerusalem, and the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines drank from them.
4As they drank the wine, they praised the gods of gold and silver, of bronze, iron, wood and stone.
5Suddenly the fingers of a human hand appeared and wrote on the plaster of the wall, near the lampstand in the royal palace. The king watched the hand as it wrote.
6His face turned pale and he was so frightened that his knees knocked together and his legs gave way.
7The king called out for the enchanters, astrologers and diviners to be brought and said to these wise men of Babylon, 'Whoever reads this writing and tells me what it means will be clothed in purple and have a gold chain placed around his neck, and he will be made the third highest ruler in the kingdom.'
8Then all the king's wise men came in, but they could not read the writing or tell the king what it meant.
9So King Belshazzar became even more terrified and his face grew more pale. His nobles were baffled.
10The queen, hearing the voices of the king and his nobles, came into the banquet hall. "O king, live forever!" she said. "Don't be alarmed! Don't look so pale!
11There is a man in your kingdom who has the spirit of the holy gods in him. In the time of your father he was found to have insight and intelligence and wisdom like that of the gods. King Nebuchadnezzar your father-your father the king, I say-appointed him chief of the magicians, enchanters, astrologers and diviners.
12This man Daniel, whom the king called Belteshazzar, was found to have a keen mind and knowledge and understanding, and also the ability to interpret dreams, explain riddles and solve difficult problems. Call for Daniel, and he will tell you what the writing means.'
13So Daniel was brought before the king, and the king said to him, 'Are you Daniel, one of the exiles my father the king brought from Judah?
14I have heard that the spirit of the gods is in you and that you have insight, intelligence and outstanding wisdom.
15The wise men and enchanters were brought before me to read this writing and tell me what it means, but they could not explain it.
16Now I have heard that you are able to give interpretations and to solve difficult problems. If you can read this writing and tell me what it means, you will be clothed in purple and have a gold chain placed around your neck, and you will be made the third highest ruler in the kingdom.'
17Then Daniel answered the king, 'You may keep your gifts for yourself and give your rewards to someone else. Nevertheless, I will read the writing for the king and tell him what it means.
18'O king, the Most High God gave your father Nebuchadnezzar sovereignty and greatness and glory and splendor.
19Because of the high position he gave him, all the peoples and nations and men of every language dreaded and feared him. Those the king wanted to put to death, he put to death; those he wanted to spare, he spared; those he wanted to promote, he promoted; and those he wanted to humble, he humbled.
20But when his heart became arrogant and hardened with pride, he was deposed from his royal throne and stripped of his glory.
21He was driven away from people and given the mind of an animal; he lived with the wild donkeys and ate grass like cattle; and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven, until he acknowledged that the Most High God is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and sets over them anyone he wishes.
22'But you his son, O Belshazzar, have not humbled yourself, though you knew all this.
23Instead, you have set yourself up against the Lord of heaven. You had the goblets from his temple brought to you, and you and your nobles, your wives and your concubines drank wine from them. You praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways.
24Therefore he sent the hand that wrote the inscription.
25'This is the inscription that was written: Mene, Mene, Tekel, Parsin
26'This is what these words mean: Mene: God has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end.
27Tekel: You have been weighed on the scales and found wanting.
28Peres: Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians.'
29Then at Belshazzar's command, Daniel was clothed in purple, a gold chain was placed around his neck, and he was proclaimed the third highest ruler in the kingdom.
30That very night Belshazzar, king of the Babylonians, was slain,
31and Darius the Mede took over the kingdom, at the age of sixty-two.

When the idol country is completely destroyed, the country of the saints is built.
다니엘2장
1느부갓네살이 위에 있은지 이년에 꿈을 꾸고 그로 인하여 마음이 번민하여 잠을 이루지 못한지라
2왕이 그 꿈을 자기에게 고하게 하려고 명하여 박수와 술객과 점장이와 갈대아 술사를 부르매 그들이 들어와서 왕의 앞에 선지라
3왕이 그들에게 이르되 내가 꿈을 꾸고 그 꿈을 알고자하여 마음이 번민하도다
4갈대아 술사들이 아람 방언으로 왕에게 말하되 왕이여 만세수를 하옵소서 왕은 그 꿈을 종들에게 이르시면 우리가 해석하여 드리겠나이다
5왕이 갈대아 술사에게 대답하여 가로되 내가 명령을 내렸나니 너희가 만일 꿈과 그 해석을 나로 알게 하지 아니하면 너희 몸을 쪼갤 것이며 너희 집으로 거름터를 삼을 것이요
6너희가 만일 꿈과 그 해석을 보이면 너희가 선물과 상과 큰 영광을 내게서 얻으리라 그런즉 꿈과 그 해석을 내게 보이라
7그들이 다시 대답하여 가로되 청컨대 왕은 꿈을 종들에게 이르소서 그리하시면 우리가 해석하여 드리겠나이다
8왕이 대답하여 가로되 내가 분명히 아노라 너희가 나의 명령이 내렸음을 보았으므로 시간을 천연하려 함이로다
9너희가 만일 이 꿈을 나로 알게 하지 아니하면 너희를 처치할 법이 오직 하나이니 이는 너희가 거짓말과 망령된 말을 내 앞에서 꾸며 말하여 때가 변하기를 기다리려 함이니라 이제 그 꿈을 내게 알게 하라 그리하면 너희가 그 해석도 보일줄을 내가 알리라
10갈대아 술사들이 왕 앞에 대답하여 가로되 세상에는 왕의 그 일을 보일 자가 하나도 없으므로 크고 권력 있는 왕이 이런 것으로 박수에게나 술객에게나 갈대아 술사에게 물은 자가 절대로 있지 아니하였나이다
11왕의 물으신 것은 희한한 일이라 육체와 함께 거하지 아니하는 신들 외에는 왕 앞에 그것을 보일 자가 없나이다 한지라
12왕이 이로 인하여 진노하고 통분하여 바벨론 모든 박사를 다 멸하라 명하니라
13왕의 명령이 내리매 박사들은 죽게 되었고 다니엘과 그 동무도 죽이려고 찾았더라
14왕의 시위대 장관 아리옥이 바벨론 박사들을 죽이러 나가매 다니엘이 명철하고 슬기로운 말로
15왕의 장관 아리옥에게 물어 가로되 왕의 명령이 어찌 그리 급하뇨 아리옥이 그 일을 다니엘에게 고하매
16다니엘이 들어가서 왕께 구하기를 기한하여 주시면 왕에게 그 해석을 보여 드리겠다 하니라
17이에 다니엘이 자기 집으로 돌아가서 그 동무 하나냐와 미사엘과 아사랴에게 그 일을 고하고
18하늘에 계신 하나님이 이 은밀한 일에 대하여 긍휼히 여기사 자기 다니엘과 동무들이 바벨론의 다른 박사와 함께 죽임을 당치 않게 하시기를 그들로 구하게 하니라
19이에 이 은밀한 것이 밤에 이상으로 다니엘에게 나타나 보이매 다니엘이 하늘에 계신 하나님을 찬송하니라
20다니엘이 말하여 가로되 영원 무궁히 하나님의 이름을 찬송할 것은 지혜와 권능이 그에게 있음이로다
21그는 때와 기한을 변하시며 왕들을 폐하시고 왕들을 세우시며 지혜자에게 지혜를 주시고 지식자에게 총명을 주시는도다
22그는 깊고 은밀한 일을 나타내시고 어두운데 있는 것을 아시며 또 빛이 그와 함께 있도다
23나의 열조의 하나님이여 주께서 이제 내게 지혜와 능력을 주시고 우리가 주께 구한바 일을 내게 알게 하셨사오니 내가 주께 감사하고 주를 찬양하나이다 곧 주께서 왕의 그 일을 내게 보이셨나이다 하니라
24이에 다니엘이 왕이 바벨론 박사들을 멸하라 명한 아리옥에게로 가서 이르매 그에게 이같이 이르되 바벨론 박사들을 멸하지 말고 나를 왕의 앞으로 인도하라 그리하면 내가 그 해석을 왕께 보여 드리리라
25이에 아리옥이 다니엘을 데리고 급히 왕의 앞에 들어가서 고하되 내가 사로잡혀 온 유다 자손 중에서 한 사람을 얻었나이다 그가 그 해석을 왕께 아시게 하리이다
26왕이 대답하여 벨드사살이라 이름한 다니엘에게 이르되 내가 얻은 꿈과 그 해석을 네가 능히 내게 알게 하겠느냐
27다니엘이 왕 앞에 대답하여 가로되 왕의 물으신바 은밀한 것은 박사나 술객이나 박수나 점장이가 능히 왕께 보일 수 없으되
28오직 은밀한 것을 나타내실 자는 하늘에 계신 하나님이시라 그가 느부갓네살왕에게 후일에 될 일을 알게 하셨나이다 왕의 꿈 곧 왕이 침상에서 뇌 속으로 받은 이상은 이러하니이다
29왕이여 왕이 침상에 나아가서 장래 일을 생각하실 때에 은밀한 것을 나타내시는 이가 장래 일을 왕에게 알게 하셨사오며
30내게 이 은밀한 것을 나타내심은 내 지혜가 다른 인생보다 나은 것이 아니라 오직 그 해석을 왕에게 알려서 왕의 마음으로 생각하던 것을 왕으로 알게 하려 하심이니이다
31왕이여 왕이 한 큰 신상을 보셨나이다 그 신상이 왕의 앞에 섰는데 크고 광채가 특심하며 그 모양이 심히 두려우니
32그 우상의 머리는 정금이요 가슴과 팔들은 은이요 배와 넓적다리는 놋이요
33그 종아리는 철이요 그 발은 얼마는 철이요 얼마는 진흙이었나이다
34또 왕이 보신즉 사람의 손으로 하지 아니하고 뜨인 돌이 신상의 철과 진흙의 발을 쳐서 부숴뜨리매
35때에 철과 진흙과 놋과 은과 금이 다 부숴져 여름 타작마당의 겨 같이 되어 바람에 불려 간곳이 없었고 우상을 친 돌은 태산을 이루어 온 세계에 가득하였었나이다
36그 꿈이 이러한즉 내가 이제 그 해석을 왕 앞에 진술하리이다
37왕이여 왕은 열왕의 왕이시라 하늘의 하나님이 나라와 권세와 능력과 영광을 왕에게 주셨고
38인생들과 들짐승과 공중의 새들, 어느곳에 있는 것을 무론하고 그것들을 왕의 손에 붙이사 다 다스리게 하셨으니 왕은 곧 그 금머리니이다
39왕의 후에 왕만 못한 다른 나라가 일어날 것이요 세째로 또 놋 같은 나라가 일어나서 온 세계를 다스릴 것이며
40네째 나라는 강하기가 철 같으리니 철은 모든 물건을 부숴뜨리고 이기는 것이라 철이 모든 것을 부수는 것 같이 그 나라가 뭇 나라를 부숴뜨리고 빻을 것이며
41왕께서 그 발과 발가락이 얼마는 토기장이의 진흙이요 얼마는 철인 것을 보셨은즉 그 나라가 나누일 것이며 왕께서 철과 진흙이 섞인 것을 보셨은즉 그 나라가 철의 든든함이 있을 것이나
42그 발가락이 얼마는 철이요 얼마는 진흙인즉 그 나라가 얼마는 든든하고 얼마는 부숴질만할 것이며
43왕께서 철과 진흙이 섞인 것을 보셨은즉 그들이 다른 인종과 서로 섞일 것이나 피차에 합하지 아니함이 철과 진흙이 합하지 않음과 같으리이다
44이 열왕의 때에 하늘의 하나님이 한 나라를 세우시리니 이것은 영원히 망하지도 아니할 것이요 그 국권이 다른 백성에게로 돌아가지도 아니할 것이요 도리어 이 모든 나라를 쳐서 멸하고 영원히 설 것이라
45왕이 사람의 손으로 아니하고 산에서 뜨인 돌이 철과 놋과 진흙과 은과 금을 부숴뜨린 것을 보신 것은 크신 하나님이 장래 일을 왕께 알게 하신 것이라 이 꿈이 참되고 이 해석이 확실하니이다
46이에 느부갓네살왕이 엎드려 다니엘에게 절하고 명하여 예물과 향품을 그에게 드리게 하니라
47왕이 대답하여 다니엘에게 이르되 너희 하나님은 참으로 모든 신의 신이시요 모든 왕의 주재시로다 네가 능히 이 은밀한 것을 나타내었으니 네 하나님은 또 은밀한 것을 나타내시는 자시로다
48왕이 이에 다니엘을 높여 귀한 선물을 많이 주며 세워 바벨론 온 도를 다스리게 하며 또 바벨론 모든 박사의 어른을 삼았으며
49왕이 또 다니엘의 청구대로 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고를 세워 바벨론 도의 일을 다스리게 하였고 다니엘은 왕궁에 있었더라
Daniel02
1In the second year of his reign, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; his mind was troubled and he could not sleep.
2So the king summoned the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers and astrologers to tell him what he had dreamed. When they came in and stood before the king,
3he said to them, 'I have had a dream that troubles me and I want to know what it means.'
4Then the astrologers answered the king in Aramaic, 'O king, live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will interpret it.'
5The king replied to the astrologers, 'This is what I have firmly decided: If you do not tell me what my dream was and interpret it, I will have you cut into pieces and your houses turned into piles of rubble.
6But if you tell me the dream and explain it, you will receive from me gifts and rewards and great honor. So tell me the dream and interpret it for me.'
7Once more they replied, 'Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will interpret it.'
8Then the king answered, 'I am certain that you are trying to gain time, because you realize that this is what I have firmly decided:
9If you do not tell me the dream, there is just one penalty for you. You have conspired to tell me misleading and wicked things, hoping the situation will change. So then, tell me the dream, and I will know that you can interpret it for me.'
10The astrologers answered the king, 'There is not a man on earth who can do what the king asks! No king, however great and mighty, has ever asked such a thing of any magician or enchanter or astrologer.
11What the king asks is too difficult. No one can reveal it to the king except the gods, and they do not live among men.'
12This made the king so angry and furious that he ordered the execution of all the wise men of Babylon.
13So the decree was issued to put the wise men to death, and men were sent to look for Daniel and his friends to put them to death.
14When Arioch, the commander of the king's guard, had gone out to put to death the wise men of Babylon, Daniel spoke to him with wisdom and tact.
15He asked the king's officer, "Why did the king issue such a harsh decree?" Arioch then explained the matter to Daniel.
16At this, Daniel went in to the king and asked for time, so that he might interpret the dream for him.
17Then Daniel returned to his house and explained the matter to his friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah.
18He urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
19During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven
20and said: 'Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his.
21He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.
22He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.
23I thank and praise you, O God of my fathers: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king.'
24Then Daniel went to Arioch, whom the king had appointed to execute the wise men of Babylon, and said to him, 'Do not execute the wise men of Babylon. Take me to the king, and I will interpret his dream for him.'
25Arioch took Daniel to the king at once and said, 'I have found a man among the exiles from Judah who can tell the king what his dream means.'
26The king asked Daniel (also called Belteshazzar), 'Are you able to tell me what I saw in my dream and interpret it?'
27Daniel replied, 'No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about,
28but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. He has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in days to come. Your dream and the visions that passed through your mind as you lay on your bed are these:
29'As you were lying there, O king, your mind turned to things to come, and the revealer of mysteries showed you what is going to happen.
30As for me, this mystery has been revealed to me, not because I have greater wisdom than other living men, but so that you, O king, may know the interpretation and that you may understand what went through your mind.
31'You looked, O king, and there before you stood a large statue-an enormous, dazzling statue, awesome in appearance.
32The head of the statue was made of pure gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze,
33its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of baked clay.
34While you were watching, a rock was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and smashed them.
35Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were broken to pieces at the same time and became like chaff on a threshing floor in the summer. The wind swept them away without leaving a trace. But the rock that struck the statue became a huge mountain and filled the whole earth.
36'This was the dream, and now we will interpret it to the king.
37You, O king, are the king of kings. The God of heaven has given you dominion and power and might and glory;
38in your hands he has placed mankind and the beasts of the field and the birds of the air. Wherever they live, he has made you ruler over them all. You are that head of gold.
39'After you, another kingdom will rise, inferior to yours. Next, a third kingdom, one of bronze, will rule over the whole earth.
40Finally, there will be a fourth kingdom, strong as iron-for iron breaks and smashes everything-and as iron breaks things to pieces, so it will crush and break all the others.
41Just as you saw that the feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom; yet it will have some of the strength of iron in it, even as you saw iron mixed with clay.
42As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle.
43And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay.
44'In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.
45This is the meaning of the vision of the rock cut out of a mountain, but not by human hands-a rock that broke the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold to pieces. 'The great God has shown the king what will take place in the future. The dream is true and the interpretation is trustworthy.'
46Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell prostrate before Daniel and paid him honor and ordered that an offering and incense be presented to him.
47The king said to Daniel, 'Surely your God is the God of gods and the Lord of kings and a revealer of mysteries, for you were able to reveal this mystery.'
48Then the king placed Daniel in a high position and lavished many gifts on him. He made him ruler over the entire province of Babylon and placed him in charge of all its wise men.
49Moreover, at Daniel's request the king appointed Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego administrators over the province of Babylon, while Daniel himself remained at the royal court.

다니엘1장
1유다 왕 여호야김이 위에 있은지 삼년에 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살이 예루살렘에 이르러 그것을 에워쌌더니
2주께서 유다 왕 여호야김과 하나님의 전 기구 얼마를 그의 손에 붙이시매 그가 그것을 가지고 시날 땅 자기 신의 묘에 이르러 그 신의 보고에 두었더라
3왕이 환관장 아스부나스에게 명하여 이스라엘 자손 중에서 왕족과 귀족의 몇 사람
4곧 흠이 없고 아름다우며 모든 재주를 통달하며 지식이 구비하며 학문에 익숙하여 왕궁에 모실만한 소년을 데려오게 하였고 그들에게 갈대아 사람의 학문과 방언을 가르치게 하였고
5또 왕이 지정하여 자기의 진미와 자기의 마시는 포도주에서 그들의 날마다 쓸 것을 주어 삼년을 기르게 하였으니 이는 그 후에 그들로 왕의 앞에 모셔 서게 하려함이었더라
6그들 중에 유다 자손 곧 다니엘과 하나냐와 미사엘과 아사랴가 있었더니
7환관장이 그들의 이름을 고쳐 다니엘은 벨드사살이라 하고 하나냐는 사드락이라 하고 미사엘은 메삭이라 하고 아사랴는 아벳느고라 하였더라
8다니엘은 뜻을 정하여 왕의 진미와 그의 마시는 포도주로 자기를 더럽히지 아니하리라 하고 자기를 더럽히지 않게 하기를 환관장에게 구하니
9하나님이 다니엘로 환관장에게 은혜와 긍휼을 얻게 하신지라
10환관장이 다니엘에게 이르되 내가 내 주 왕을 두려워하노라 그가 너희 먹을 것과 너희 마실 것을 지정하셨거늘 너희의 얼굴이 초췌하여 동무 소년들만 못한 것을 그로 보시게 할 것이 무엇이냐 그렇게 되면 너희 까닭에 내 머리가 왕 앞에서 위태하게 되리라 하니라
11환관장이 세워 다니엘과 하나냐와 미사엘과 아사랴를 감독하게 한 자에게 다니엘이 말하되
12청하오니 당신의 종들을 열흘 동안 시험하여 채식을 주어 먹게 하고 물을 주어 마시게 한 후에
13당신 앞에서 우리의 얼굴과 왕의 진미를 먹는 소년들의 얼굴을 비교하여 보아서 보이는대로 종들에게 처분하소서 하매
14그가 그들의 말을 좇아 열흘을 시험하더니
15열흘 후에 그들의 얼굴이 더욱 아름답고 살이 더욱 윤택하여 왕의 진미를 먹는 모든 소년보다 나아 보인지라
16이러므로 감독하는 자가 그들에게 분정된 진미와 마실 포도주를 제하고 채식을 주니라
17하나님이 이 네 소년에게 지식을 얻게 하시며 모든 학문과 재주에 명철하게 하신 외에 다니엘은 또 모든 이상과 몽조를 깨달아 알더라
18왕의 명한바 그들을 불러 들일 기한이 찼으므로 환관장이 그들을 데리고 느부갓네살 앞으로 들어갔더니
19왕이 그들과 말하여 보매 무리 중에 다니엘과 하나냐와 미사엘과 아사랴와 같은 자 없으므로 그들로 왕 앞에 모시게 하고
20왕이 그들에게 모든 일을 묻는 중에 그 지혜와 총명이 온 나라 박수와 술객보다 십배나 나은줄을 아니라
21다니엘은 고레스왕 원년까지 있으니라
Daniel01
1In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it.
2And the Lord delivered Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, along with some of the articles from the temple of God. These he carried off to the temple of his god in Babylonia and put in the treasure house of his god.
3Then the king ordered Ashpenaz, chief of his court officials, to bring in some of the Israelites from the royal family and the nobility-
4young men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king's palace. He was to teach them the language and literature of the Babylonians.
5The king assigned them a daily amount of food and wine from the king's table. They were to be trained for three years, and after that they were to enter the king's service.
6Among these were some from Judah: Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah.
7The chief official gave them new names: to Daniel, the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego.
8But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.
9Now God had caused the official to show favor and sympathy to Daniel,
10but the official told Daniel, 'I am afraid of my lord the king, who has assigned your food and drink. Why should he see you looking worse than the other young men your age? The king would then have my head because of you.'
11Daniel then said to the guard whom the chief official had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah,
12'Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink.
13Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see.'
14So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days.
15At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food.
16So the guard took away their choice food and the wine they were to drink and gave them vegetables instead.
17To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds.
18At the end of the time set by the king to bring them in, the chief official presented them to Nebuchadnezzar.
19The king talked with them, and he found none equal to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah; so they entered the king's service.
20In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king questioned them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom.
21And Daniel remained there until the first year of King Cyrus.

11또 내게 이르시되 인자야 이 뼈들은 이스라엘 온 족속이라 그들이 이르기를 우리의 뼈들이 말랐고 우리의 소망이 없어졌으니 우리는 다 멸절되었다 하느니라
12그러므로 너는 대언하여 그들에게 이르기를 주 여호와의 말씀에 내 백성들아 내가 너희 무덤을 열고 너희로 거기서 나오게하고 이스라엘 땅으로 들어가게 하리라
13내 백성들아 내가 너희 무덤을 열고 너희로 거기서 나오게 한즉 너희가 나를 여호와인줄 알리라
14내가 또 내 신을 너희 속에 두어 너희로 살게 하고 내가 또 너희를 너희 고토에 거하게 하리니 나 여호와가 이 일을 말하고 이룬 줄을 너희가 알리라 나 여호와의 말이니라 하셨다 하라
15여호와의 말씀이 또 내게 임하여 가라사대
16인자야 너는 막대기 하나를 취하여 그 위에 유다와 그 짝 이스라엘 자손이라 쓰고 또 다른 막대기 하나를 취하여 그 위에 에브라임의 막대기 곧 요셉과 그 짝 이스라엘 온 족속이라 쓰고
17그 막대기들을 서로 연합하여 하나가 되게 하라 네 손에서 둘이 하나가 되리라
18네 민족이 네게 말하여 이르기를 이것이 무슨 뜻인지 우리에게 고하지 아니하겠느냐 하거든
19너는 곧 이르기를 주 여호와의 말씀에 내가 에브라임의 손에 있는바 요셉과 그 짝 이스라엘 지파들의 막대기를 취하여 유다의 막대기에 붙여서 한 막대기가 되게 한즉 내 손에서 하나가 되리라 하셨다 하고
20너는 그 글 쓴 막대기들을 무리의 목전에서 손에 잡고
21그들에게 이르기를 주 여호와의 말씀에 내가 이스라엘 자손을 그 간바 열국에서 취하며 그 사면에서 모아서 그 고토로 돌아가게 하고
22그 땅 이스라엘 모든 산에서 그들로 한 나라를 이루어서 한 임금이 모두 다스리게 하리니 그들이 다시는 두 민족이 되지 아니하며 두 나라로 나누이지 아니할찌라
23그들이 그 우상들과 가증한 물건과 그 모든 죄악으로 스스로 더럽히지 아니하리라 내가 그들을 그 범죄한 모든 처소에서 구원하여 정결케 한즉 그들은 내 백성이 되고 나는 그들의 하나님이 되리라
24내 종 다윗이 그들의 왕이 되리니 그들에게 다 한 목자가 있을 것이라 그들이 내 규례를 준행하고 내 율례를 지켜 행하며
25내가 내 종 야곱에게 준 땅 곧 그 열조가 거하던 땅에 그들이 거하되 그들과 그 자자 손손이 영원히 거기 거할 것이요 내 종 다윗이 영원히 그 왕이 되리라
26내가 그들과 화평의 언약을 세워서 영원한 언약이 되게 하고 또 그들을 견고하고 번성케 하며 내 성소를 그 가운데 세워서 영원히 이르게 하리니
27내 처소가 그들의 가운데 있을 것이며 나는 그들의 하나님이 되고 그들은 내 백성이 되리라
28내 성소가 영원토록 그들의 가운데 있으리니 열국이 나를 이스라엘을 거룩케 하는 여호와인줄 알리라 하셨다 하라
Ezekiel37:11~
11Then he said to me: "Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They say, 'Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.'
12Therefore prophesy and say to them: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: O my people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel.
13Then you, my people, will know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves and bring you up from them.
14I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the LORD have spoken, and I have done it, declares the LORD.' "
15The word of the LORD came to me:
16"Son of man, take a stick of wood and write on it, 'Belonging to Judah and the Israelites associated with him.' Then take another stick of wood, and write on it, 'Ephraim's stick, belonging to Joseph and all the house of Israel associated with him.'
17Join them together into one stick so that they will become one in your hand.
18"When your countrymen ask you, 'Won't you tell us what you mean by this?'
19say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am going to take the stick of Joseph-which is in Ephraim's hand-and of the Israelite tribes associated with him, and join it to Judah's stick, making them a single stick of wood, and they will become one in my hand.'
20Hold before their eyes the sticks you have written on
21and say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land.
22I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms.
23They will no longer defile themselves with their idols and vile images or with any of their offenses, for I will save them from all their sinful backsliding, and I will cleanse them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.
24" 'My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd. They will follow my laws and be careful to keep my decrees.
25They will live in the land I gave to my servant Jacob, the land where your fathers lived. They and their children and their children's children will live there forever, and David my servant will be their prince forever.
26I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant. I will establish them and increase their numbers, and I will put my sanctuary among them forever.
27My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people.
28Then the nations will know that I the LORD make Israel holy, when my sanctuary is among them forever.' "

에스겔37장
1여호와께서 권능으로 내게 임하시고 그 신으로 나를 데리고 가서 골짜기 가운데 두셨는데 거기 뼈가 가득하더라
2나를 그 뼈 사방으로 지나게 하시기로 본즉 그 골짜기 지면에 뼈가 심히 많고 아주 말랐더라
3그가 내게 이르시되 인자야 이 뼈들이 능히 살겠느냐 하시기로 내가 대답하되 주 여호와여 주께서 아시나이다
4또 내게 이르시되 너는 이 모든 뼈에게 대언하여 이르기를 너희 마른 뼈들아 여호와의 말씀을 들을찌어다
5주 여호와께서 이 뼈들에게 말씀하시기를 내가 생기로 너희에게 들어가게 하리니 너희가 살리라
6너희 위에 힘줄을 두고 살을 입히고 가죽으로 덮고 너희 속에 생기를 두리니 너희가 살리라 또 나를 여호와인줄 알리라 하셨다 하라
7이에 내가 명을 좇아 대언하니 대언할 때에 소리가 나고 움직이더니 이 뼈, 저 뼈가 들어 맞아서 뼈들이 서로 연락하더라
8내가 또 보니 그 뼈에 힘줄이 생기고 살이 오르며 그 위에 가죽이 덮이나 그 속에 생기는 없더라
9또 내게 이르시되 인자야 너는 생기를 향하여 대언하라 생기에게 대언하여 이르기를 주 여호와의 말씀에 생기야 사방에서부터 와서 이 사망을 당한 자에게 불어서 살게 하라 하셨다 하라
10이에 내가 그 명대로 대언하였더니 생기가 그들에게 들어가매 그들이 곧 살아 일어나서 서는데 극히 큰 군대더라
11또 내게 이르시되 인자야 이 뼈들은 이스라엘 온 족속이라 그들이 이르기를 우리의 뼈들이 말랐고 우리의 소망이 없어졌으니 우리는 다 멸절되었다 하느니라
12그러므로 너는 대언하여 그들에게 이르기를 주 여호와의 말씀에 내 백성들아 내가 너희 무덤을 열고 너희로 거기서 나오게하고 이스라엘 땅으로 들어가게 하리라

1The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones.
2He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry.
3He asked me, 'Son of man, can these bones live?' I said, "O Sovereign LORD, you alone know.'
4Then he said to me, "Prophesy to these bones and say to them, 'Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!
5This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.
6I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.' "
7So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone.
8I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.
9Then he said to me, "Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.' "
10So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet- vast army.

27그리한즉 밭에 나무가 열매를 맺으며 땅이 그 소산을 내리니 그들이 그 땅에서 평안할찌라 내가 그들의 멍엣목을 꺾고 그들로 종을 삼은 자의 손에서 그들을 건져낸 후에 그들이 나를 여호와인줄 알겠고
28그들이 다시는 이방의 노략거리가 되지 아니하며 땅의 짐승의 삼킨바 되지 아니하고 평안히 거하리니 놀랠 사람이 없으리라
29내가 그들을 위하여 유명한 종식할 땅을 일으키리니 그들이 다시는 그 땅에서 기근으로 멸망하지 아니할찌며 다시는 열국의 수치를 받지 아니할찌라
30그들이 나 여호와 그들의 하나님이 그들과 함께 있는 줄을 알며 그들 곧 이스라엘 족속이 내 백성인줄 알리라 나 주 여호와의 말이라
31내 양 곧 내 초장의 양 너희는 사람이요 나는 너희 하나님이라 나 주 여호와의 말이니라
Ezekiel34:25~
25" 'I will make a covenant of peace with them and rid the land of wild beasts so that they may live in the desert and sleep in the forests in safety.
26I will bless them and the places surrounding my hill. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing.
27The trees of the field will yield their fruit and the ground will yield its crops; the people will be secure in their land. They will know that I am the LORD, when I break the bars of their yoke and rescue them from the hands of those who enslaved them.
28They will no longer be plundered by the nations, nor will wild animals devour them. They will live in safety, and no one will make them afraid.
29I will provide for them a land renowned for its crops, and they will no longer be victims of famine in the land or bear the scorn of the nations.
30Then they will know that I, the LORD their God, am with them and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, declares the Sovereign LORD.
31You my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, are people, and I am your God, declares the Sovereign LORD.' "

에스겔34장
1여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 가라사대
2인자야 너는 이스라엘 목자들을 쳐서 예언하라 그들 곧 목자들에게 예언하여 이르기를 주 여호와의 말씀에 자기만 먹이는 이스라엘 목자들은 화 있을찐저 목자들이 양의 무리를 먹이는 것이 마땅치 아니하냐
3너희가 살진 양을 잡아 그 기름을 먹으며 그 털을 입되 양의 무리는 먹이지 아니하는도다
4너희가 그 연약한 자를 강하게 아니하며 병든 자를 고치지 아니하며 상한 자를 싸매어 주지 아니하며 쫓긴 자를 돌아오게 아니하며 잃어버린 자를 찾지 아니하고 다만 강포로 그것들을 다스렸도다
5목자가 없으므로 그것들이 흩어지며 흩어져서 모든 들짐승의 밥이 되었도다
6내 양의 무리가 모든 산과 높은 멧부리에마다 유리되었고 내 양의 무리가 온 지면에 흩어졌으되 찾고 찾는 자가 없었도다
7그러므로 목자들아 여호와의 말씀을 들을찌어다
8주 여호와의 말씀에 내가 나의 삶을 두고 맹세하노라 내 양의 무리가 노략거리가 되고 모든 들짐승의 밥이 된 것은 목자가 없음이라 내 목자들이 내 양을 찾지 아니하고 자기만 먹이고 내 양의 무리를 먹이지 아니하였도다
9그러므로 너희 목자들아 여호와의 말씀을 들을찌어다
10주 여호와의 말씀에 내가 목자들을 대적하여 내 양의 무리를 그들의 손에서 찾으리니 목자들이 양을 먹이지 못할 뿐 아니라 그들이 다시는 자기를 먹이지 못할찌라 내가 내 양을 그들의 입에서 건져내어서 다시는 그 식물이 되지 않게 하리라
11나 주 여호와가 말하노라 나 곧 내가 내 양을 찾고 찾되
12목자가 양 가운데 있는 날에 양이 흩어졌으면 그 떼를 찾는 것 같이 내가 내 양을 찾아서 흐리고 캄캄한 날에 그 흩어진 모든 곳에서 그것들을 건져낼찌라
13내가 그것들을 만민 중에서 끌어내며 열방 중에서 모아 그 본토로 데리고 가서 이스라엘 산 위에와 시냇가에와 그 땅 모든 거주지에서 먹이되
14좋은 꼴로 먹이고 그 우리를 이스라엘 높은 산 위에 두리니 그것들이 거기서 좋은 우리에 누워 있으며 이스라엘 산 위에서 살진 꼴을 먹으리라
15나 주 여호와가 말하노라 내가 친히 내 양의 목자가 되어 그것들로 누워 있게 할찌라
16그 잃어버린 자를 내가 찾으며 쫓긴 자를 내가 돌아 오게 하며 상한 자를 내가 싸매어 주며 병든 자를 내가 강하게 하려니와 살찐 자와 강한 자는 내가 멸하고 공의대로 그것들을 먹이리라
17나 주 여호와가 말하노라 나의 양떼 너희여 내가 양과 양의 사이와 수양과 수염소의 사이에 심판하노라
18너희가 좋은 꼴 먹은 것을 작은 일로 여기느냐 어찌하여 남은 꼴을 발로 밟았느냐 너희가 맑은 물 마신 것을 작은 일로 여기느냐 어찌하여 남은 물을 발로 더럽혔느냐
19나의 양은 너희 발로 밟은 것을 먹으며 너희 발로 더럽힌 것을 마시는도다 하셨느니라
20그러므로 주 여호와께서 그들에게 대하여 말씀하시기를 나 곧 내가 살찐 양과 파리한 양 사이에 심판하리라
21너희가 옆구리와 어깨로 밀뜨리고 모든 병든 자를 뿔로 받아 무리로 밖으로 흩어지게 하는도다
22그러므로 내가 내 양떼를 구원하여 그들로 다시는 노략거리가 되지 않게 하고 양과 양 사이에 심판하리라
23내가 한 목자를 그들의 위에 세워 먹이게 하리니 그는 내 종 다윗이라 그가 그들을 먹이고 그들의 목자가 될찌라
24나 여호와는 그들의 하나님이 되고 내 종 다윗은 그들 중에 왕이 되리라 나 여호와의 말이니라
25내가 또 그들과 화평의 언약을 세우고 악한 짐승을 그 땅에서 그치게 하리니 그들이 빈 들에 평안히 거하며 수풀 가운데서 잘찌라
26내가 그들에게 복을 내리며 내 산 사면 모든 곳도 복되게 하여 때를 따라 비를 내리되 복된 장마비를 내리리라

1The word of the LORD came to me:
2"Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who only take care of themselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock?
3You eat the curds, clothe yourselves with the wool and slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the flock.
4You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally.
5So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals.
6My sheep wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. They were scattered over the whole earth, and no one searched or looked for them.
7" 'Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the LORD :
8As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, because my flock lacks a shepherd and so has been plundered and has become food for all the wild animals, and because my shepherds did not search for my flock but cared for themselves rather than for my flock,
9therefore, O shepherds, hear the word of the LORD :
10This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against the shepherds and will hold them accountable for my flock. I will remove them from tending the flock so that the shepherds can no longer feed themselves. I will rescue my flock from their mouths, and it will no longer be food for them.
11" 'For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them.
12As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness.
13I will bring them out from the nations and gather them from the countries, and I will bring them into their own land. I will pasture them on the mountains of Israel, in the ravines and in all the settlements in the land.
14I will tend them in a good pasture, and the mountain heights of Israel will be their grazing land. There they will lie down in good grazing land, and there they will feed in a rich pasture on the mountains of Israel.
15I myself will tend my sheep and have them lie down, declares the Sovereign LORD.
16I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice.
17" 'As for you, my flock, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will judge between one sheep and another, and between rams and goats.
18Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture? Must you also trample the rest of your pasture with your feet? Is it not enough for you to drink clear water? Must you also muddy the rest with your feet?
19Must my flock feed on what you have trampled and drink what you have muddied with your feet?
20" 'Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says to them: See, I myself will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep.
21Because you shove with flank and shoulder, butting all the weak sheep with your horns until you have driven them away,
22I will save my flock, and they will no longer be plundered. I will judge between one sheep and another.
23I will place over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he will tend them; he will tend them and be their shepherd.
24I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David will be prince among them. I the LORD have spoken.

에스겔32장
1제 십 이년 십 이월 초일일에 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 가라사대
2인자야 너는 애굽 왕 바로에 대하여 애가를 불러 그에게 이르라 너를 열국에서 젊은 사자에 비하였더니 실상은 바다 가운데 큰 악어라 강에서 뛰어 일어나 발로 물을 요동하여 그 강을 더럽혔도다
3나 주 여호와의 말이여 내가 많은 백성의 무리를 거느리고 내 그물을 네 위에 치고 그 그물로 너를 끌어 오리로다
4내가 너를 뭍에 버리며 들에 던져 공중의 새들로 네 위에 앉게 할 것임이여 온 땅의 짐승으로 너를 먹어 배부르게 하리로다
5내가 네 고기를 여러 산에 두며 네 시체를 여러 골짜기에 채울 것임이여
6네 피로 네 헤엄치는 땅에 물 대듯 하여 산에 미치게 하며 그 모든 개천에 채우리로다
7내가 너를 불 끄듯 할 때에 하늘을 가리워 별로 어둡게 하며 해를 구름으로 가리우며 달로 빛을 발하지 못하게 할 것임이여
8하늘의 모든 밝은 빛을 내가 네 위에서 어둡게 하여 어두움을 네 땅에 베풀리로다 나 주 여호와의 말이로다
9내가 네 패망의 소문으로 열국 곧 너의 알지 못하는 열방에 이르게 할 때에 많은 백성의 마음을 번뇌케 할 것임이여
10내가 그 많은 백성으로 너를 인하여 놀라게 할 것이며 내가 내 칼로 그들의 왕 앞에서 춤추게 할 때에 그 왕이 너를 인하여 심히 두려워할 것이며 네가 엎드러지는 날에 그들이 각각 자기 생명을 위하여 무시로 떨리로다
11나 주 여호와가 말함이여 바벨론 왕의 칼이 네게 임하리로다
12내가 네 무리로 용사 곧 열국의 무서운 자들의 칼에 엎드러지게 할 것임이여 그들이 애굽의 교만을 폐하며 그 모든 무리를 멸하리로다
13내가 또 그 모든 짐승을 큰 물 가에서 멸하리니 사람의 발이나 짐승의 굽이 다시는 그 물을 흐리지 못할 것임이여
14그 때에 내가 그 물을 맑게 하여 그 강으로 기름 같이 흐르게 하리로다 나 주 여호와의 말이로다
15내가 애굽 땅으로 황무하여 사막이 되게 하여 거기 풍성한 것이 없게 할 것임이여 그 가운데 모든 거민을 치리니 그들이 나를 여호와인줄 알리로다
16이는 슬피 부를 애가니 열국 여자들이 이것을 슬피 부름이여 애굽과 그 모든 무리를 위하여 이것을 슬피 부르리로다 나 주 여호와의 말이로다 하라
17제 십 이년 어느 달 십 오일에 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 가라사대
18인자야 애굽의 무리를 애곡하고 그와 유명한 나라 여자들을 구덩이에 내려가는 자와 함께 지하에 던지며
19이르라 너의 아름다움이 누구보다 지나가는고 너는 내려가서 할례 받지 않은 자와 함께 뉘울찌어다
20그들이 살륙 당한 자 중에 엎드러질 것임이여 그는 칼에 붙인바 되었은즉 그와 그 모든 무리를 끌찌어다
21용사 중에 강한 자가 그를 돕는 자와 함께 음부 가운데서 그에게 말함이여 할례 받지 않은 자 곧 칼에 살륙 당한 자들이 내려와서 가만히 누웠다 하리로다
22거기 앗수르와 그 온 무리가 있음이여 다 살륙을 당하여 칼에 엎드러진 자라 그 무덤이 그 사방에 있도다
23그 무덤이 구덩이 깊은 곳에 베풀렸고 그 무리가 그 무덤 사방에 있음이여 그들은 다 살륙을 당하여 칼에 엎드러진 자 곧 생존 세상에서 사람을 두렵게 하던 자로다
24거기 엘람이 있고 그 모든 무리가 그 무덤 사면에 있음이여 그들은 다 할례를 받지 못하고 살륙을 당하여 칼에 엎드러져 지하에 내려간 자로다 그들이 생존 세상에서 두렵게 하였었으나 이제는 구덩이에 내려가는 자와 함께 수치를 당하였도다
25그와 그 모든 무리를 위하여 침상을 살륙 당한 자 중에 베풀었고 그 여러 무덤은 사면에 있음이여 그들은 다 할례를 받지 못하고 칼에 살륙을 당한 자로다 그들이 생존 세상에서 두렵게 하였었으나 이제는 구덩이에 내려가는 자와 함께 수치를 당하고 살륙 당한 자 중에 뉘었도다
26거기 메섹과 두발과 그 모든 무리가 있고 그 여러 무덤은 사면에 있음이여 그들은 다 할례를 받지 못하고 칼에 살륙을 당한 자로다 그들이 생존 세상에서 두렵게 하였었으나
27그들이 할례 받지 못한 자 중에 이미 엎드러진 용사와 함께 누운 것이 마땅치 아니하냐 이 용사들은 다 병기를 가지고 음부에 내려 자기의 칼을 베개하였으니 그 백골이 자기 죄악을 졌음이여 생존 세상에서 용사의 두려움이 있던 자로다
28오직 너는 할례 받지 못한 자와 일반으로 패망할 것임이여 칼에 살륙 당한 자와 함께 누우리로다
29거기 에돔 곧 그 열왕과 그 모든 방백이 있음이여 그들이 강성하였었으나 칼에 살륙 당한 자와 함께 있겠고 할례 받지 못하고 구덩이에 내려간 자와 함께 누우리로다
30거기 살륙 당한 자와 함께 내려간 북방 모든 방백과 모든 시돈 사람이 있음이여 그들이 본래는 강성하였으므로 두렵게 하였었으나 이제는 부끄러움을 품고 할례 받지 못하고 칼에 살륙 당한 자와 함께 누웠고 구덩이에 내려 가는 자와 함께 수욕을 당하였도다
31바로가 그들을 보고 그 모든 무리로 인하여 위로를 받을 것임이여 칼에 살륙 당한 바로와 그 온 군대가 그러하리로다 나 주 여호와의 말이로다
32내가 바로로 생존 세상에서 사람을 두렵게 하게 하였었으나 이제는 그가 그 모든 무리로 더불어 할례 받지 못한 자 곧 칼에 살륙 당한 자와 함께 뉘우리로다 나 주 여호와의 말이로다

1In the twelfth year, in the twelfth month on the first day, the word of the LORD came to me:
2"Son of man, take up a lament concerning Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him: " 'You are like a lion among the nations; you are like a monster in the seas thrashing about in your streams, churning the water with your feet and muddying the streams.
3" 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: " 'With a great throng of people I will cast my net over you, and they will haul you up in my net.
4I will throw you on the land and hurl you on the open field. I will let all the birds of the air settle on you and all the beasts of the earth gorge themselves on you.
5I will spread your flesh on the mountains and fill the valleys with your remains.
6I will drench the land with your flowing blood all the way to the mountains, and the ravines will be filled with your flesh.
7When I snuff you out, I will cover the heavens and darken their stars; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon will not give its light.
8All the shining lights in the heavens I will darken over you; I will bring darkness over your land, declares the Sovereign LORD.
9I will trouble the hearts of many peoples when I bring about your destruction among the nations, among lands you have not known.
10I will cause many peoples to be appalled at you, and their kings will shudder with horror because of you when I brandish my sword before them. On the day of your downfall each of them will tremble every moment for his life.
11" 'For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: " 'The sword of the king of Babylon will come against you.
12I will cause your hordes to fall by the swords of mighty men-the most ruthless of all nations. They will shatter the pride of Egypt, and all her hordes will be overthrown.
13I will destroy all her cattle from beside abundant waters no longer to be stirred by the foot of man or muddied by the hoofs of cattle.
14Then I will let her waters settle and make her streams flow like oil, declares the Sovereign LORD.
15When I make Egypt desolate and strip the land of everything in it, when I strike down all who live there, then they will know that I am the LORD.'
16'This is the lament they will chant for her. The daughters of the nations will chant it; for Egypt and all her hordes they will chant it, declares the Sovereign LORD.'
17In the twelfth year, on the fifteenth day of the month, the word of the LORD came to me:
18'Son of man, wail for the hordes of Egypt and consign to the earth below both her and the daughters of mighty nations, with those who go down to the pit.
19Say to them, 'Are you more favored than others? Go down and be laid among the uncircumcised.'
20They will fall among those killed by the sword. The sword is drawn; let her be dragged off with all her hordes.
21From within the grave the mighty leaders will say of Egypt and her allies, 'They have come down and they lie with the uncircumcised, with those killed by the sword.'
22'Assyria is there with her whole army; she is surrounded by the graves of all her slain, all who have fallen by the sword.
23Their graves are in the depths of the pit and her army lies around her grave. All who had spread terror in the land of the living are slain, fallen by the sword.
24'Elam is there, with all her hordes around her grave. All of them are slain, fallen by the sword. All who had spread terror in the land of the living went down uncircumcised to the earth below. They bear their shame with those who go down to the pit.
25A bed is made for her among the slain, with all her hordes around her grave. All of them are uncircumcised, killed by the sword. Because their terror had spread in the land of the living, they bear their shame with those who go down to the pit; they are laid among the slain.
26'Meshech and Tubal are there, with all their hordes around their graves. All of them are uncircumcised, killed by the sword because they spread their terror in the land of the living.
27Do they not lie with the other uncircumcised warriors who have fallen, who went down to the grave with their weapons of war, whose swords were placed under their heads? The punishment for their sins rested on their bones, though the terror of these warriors had stalked through the land of the living.
28'You too, O Pharaoh, will be broken and will lie among the uncircumcised, with those killed by the sword.
29'Edom is there, her kings and all her princes; despite their power, they are laid with those killed by the sword. They lie with the uncircumcised, with those who go down to the pit.
30'All the princes of the north and all the Sidonians are there; they went down with the slain in disgrace despite the terror caused by their power. They lie uncircumcised with those killed by the sword and bear their shame with those who go down to the pit.
31'Pharaoh-he and all his army-will see them and he will be consoled for all his hordes that were killed by the sword, declares the Sovereign LORD.
32Although I had him spread terror in the land of the living, Pharaoh and all his hordes will be laid among the uncircumcised, with those killed by the sword, declares the Sovereign LORD.'

에스겔30장
1여호와의 말씀이 또 내게 임하여 가라사대
2인자야 너는 예언하여 이르라 주 여호와의 말씀에 너희는 통곡하며 이르기를 슬프다 이 날이여 하라
3그 날이 가까왔도다 여호와의 날이 가까왔도다 구름의 날일 것이요 열국의 때이리로다
4애굽에 칼이 임할 것이라 애굽에서 살륙 당한 자들이 엎드러질 때에 구스에 심한 근심이 있을 것이며 애굽의 무리가 옮기우며 그 기지가 헐릴 것이요
5구스와 붓과 룻과 모든 섞인 백성과 굽과 및 동맹한 땅의 백성들이 그들과 함께 칼에 엎드러지리라
6나 여호와가 말하노라 애굽을 붙들어 주는 자도 엎드러질 것이요 애굽의 교만한 권세도 낮아질 것이라 믹돌에서부터 수에네까지 무리가 그 가운데서 칼에 엎드러지리라 나 주 여호와의 말이니라
7황무한 열방 같이 그들도 황무할 것이며 사막이 된 성읍들 같이 그 성읍들도 사막이 될 것이라
8내가 애굽에 불을 일으키며 그 모든 돕는 자를 멸할 때에 그들이 나를 여호와인줄 알리라
9그 날에 사자들이 내 앞에서 배로 나아가서 염려 없는 구스 사람을 두렵게 하리니 애굽의 재앙의 날과 같이 그들에게도 심한 근심이 있으리라 이것이 오리로다
10나 주 여호와가 말하노라 내가 또 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살의 손으로 애굽 무리들을 끊으리니
11그가 열국 중에 강포한 자기 군대를 거느리고 와서 그 땅을 멸할 때에 칼을 빼어 애굽을 쳐서 살륙 당한 자로 땅에 가득하게 하리라
12내가 그 모든 강을 말리우고 그 땅을 악인의 손에 팔겠으며 타국 사람의 손으로 그 땅과 그 가운데 있는 모든 것을 황무케 하리라 나 여호와의 말이니라
13나 주 여호와가 말하노라 내가 그 우상들을 멸하며 신상들을 놉 가운데서 끊으며 애굽 땅에서 왕이 다시 나지 못하게 하고 그 땅에 두려움이 있게 하리라
14내가 바드로스를 황무케 하며 소안에 불을 일으키며 노를 국문하며
15내 분노를 애굽의 견고한 성 신에 쏟고 또 노의 무리를 끊을 것이라
16내가 애굽에 불을 일으키리니 신이 심히 근심할 것이며 노는 찢어 나뉠 것이며 놉은 날로 대적이 있을 것이며
17아웬과 비베셋의 소년들은 칼에 엎드러질 것이며 그 성읍 거민들은 포로 될 것이라
18내가 애굽 멍에를 꺾으며 그 교만한 권세를 그 가운데서 그치게 할 때에 드합느헤스에서는 날이 어둡겠고 그 성읍에는 구름이 덮일 것이며 그 딸들은 포로 될 것이라
19이와 같이 내가 애굽을 국문하리니 그들이 나를 여호와인줄 알리라 하셨다 하라
20제 십 일년 정월 칠일에 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 가라사대
21인자야 내가 애굽 왕 바로의 팔을 꺾었더니 칼을 잡을 힘이 있도록 그것을 그저 싸매지도 못하였고 약을 붙여 싸매지도 못하였느니라
22그러므로 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 내가 애굽왕 바로를 대적하여 그 두 팔 곧 성한 팔과 이미 꺾인 팔을 꺾어서 칼이 그 손에서 떨어지게 하고
23애굽 사람을 열국 가운데로 흩으며 열방 가운데로 헤칠찌라
24내가 바벨론 왕의 팔을 견고하게 하고 내 칼을 그 손에 붙이려니와 내가 바로의 팔을 꺾으리니 그가 바벨론 왕의 앞에서 고통하기를 죽게 상한 자의 고통하듯 하리라
25내가 바벨론왕의 팔은 들어주고 바로의 팔은 떨어뜨릴 것이라 내가 내 칼을 바벨론 왕의 손에 붙이고 그로 들어 애굽 땅을 치게 하리니 그들이 나를 여호와인줄 알겠고
26내가 애굽 사람을 열국 가운데로 흩으며 열방 가운데로 헤치리니 그들이 나를 여호와인줄 알리라
Ezekiel 30
1The word of the LORD came to me:
2"Son of man, prophesy and say: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: " 'Wail and say, "Alas for that day!"
3For the day is near, the day of the LORD is near-a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations.
4A sword will come against Egypt, and anguish will come upon Cush. When the slain fall in Egypt, her wealth will be carried away and her foundations torn down.
5Cush and Put, Lydia and all Arabia, Libya and the people of the covenant land will fall by the sword along with Egypt.
6" 'This is what the LORD says: " 'The allies of Egypt will fall and her proud strength will fail. From Migdol to Aswan they will fall by the sword within her, declares the Sovereign LORD.
7" 'They will be desolate among desolate lands, and their cities will lie among ruined cities.
8Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I set fire to Egypt and all her helpers are crushed.
9" 'On that day messengers will go out from me in ships to frighten Cush out of her complacency. Anguish will take hold of them on the day of Egypt's doom, for it is sure to come.
10" 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: " 'I will put an end to the hordes of Egypt by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.
11He and his army-the most ruthless of nations-will be brought in to destroy the land. They will draw their swords against Egypt and fill the land with the slain.
12I will dry up the streams of the Nile and sell the land to evil men; by the hand of foreigners I will lay waste the land and everything in it. I the LORD have spoken.
13" 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: " 'I will destroy the idols and put an end to the images in Memphis. No longer will there be a prince in Egypt, and I will spread fear throughout the land.
14I will lay waste Upper Egypt, set fire to Zoan and inflict punishment on Thebes.
15I will pour out my wrath on Pelusium, the stronghold of Egypt, and cut off the hordes of Thebes.
16I will set fire to Egypt; Pelusium will writhe in agony. Thebes will be taken by storm; Memphis will be in constant distress.
17The young men of Heliopolis and Bubastis will fall by the sword, and the cities themselves will go into captivity.
18Dark will be the day at Tahpanhes when I break the yoke of Egypt; there her proud strength will come to an end. She will be covered with clouds, and her villages will go into captivity.
19So I will inflict punishment on Egypt, and they will know that I am the LORD.' "
20In the eleventh year, in the first month on the seventh day, the word of the LORD came to me:
21'Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt. It has not been bound up for healing or put in a splint so as to become strong enough to hold a sword.
22Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt. I will break both his arms, the good arm as well as the broken one, and make the sword fall from his hand.
23I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations and scatter them through the countries.
24I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand, but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before him like a mortally wounded man.
25I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh will fall limp. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon and he brandishes it against Egypt.
26I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations and scatter them through the countries. Then they will know that I am the LORD.'
