예레미야26장
1유다 왕 요시야의 아들 여호야김의 즉위 초에 여호와께로서 이 말씀이 임하니라 가라사대
2나 여호와가 이같이 이르노라 너는 여호와의 집 뜰에 서서 유다 모든 성읍에서 여호와의 집에 와서 경배하는 자에게 내가 네게 명하여 이르게 한 모든 말을 고하되 한 말도 감하지 말라
3그들이 듣고 혹시 각각 그 악한 길에서 떠나리라 그리하면 내가 그들의 악행으로 인하여 재앙을 그들에게 내리려 하던 뜻을 돌이키리라
4너는 그들에게 이르기를 여호와의 말씀에 너희가 나를 청종치 아니하며 내가 너희 앞에 둔 내 법을 행치 아니하며
5내가 너희에게 보내고 부지런히 보낸 나의 종 선지자들의 말을 이미 듣지 아니하였거니와 너희가 만일 다시 듣지 아니하면
6내가 이 집을 실로 같이 되게 하고 이 성으로 세계 열방의 저줏거리가 되게 하리라 하셨다 하라
7예레미야가 여호와의 집에서 이 말을 하매 제사장들과 선지자들과 모든 백성이 듣더라
8예레미야가 여호와께서 명하신 말씀을 모든 백성에게 고하기를 마치매 제사장들과 선지자들과 모든 백성이 그를 붙잡고 이르되 네가 반드시 죽으리라
9어찌하여 네가 여호와의 이름을 의탁하고 예언하여 이르기를 이 집이 실로 같이 되겠고 이 성이 황무하여 거민이 없으리라 하느뇨 하며 그 모든 백성이 여호와의 집에서 예레미야에게로 모여드니라
10유다 방백들이 이 일을 듣고 왕궁에서 여호와의 집으로 올라와서 여호와의 집 새문 어귀에 앉으매
11제사장들과 선지자들이 방백들과 모든 백성에게 말하여 가로되 이 사람은 죽음이 합당하니 너희 귀로 들음 같이 이 성을 쳐서 예언하였느니라
12예레미야가 모든 방백과 백성에게 일러 가로되 여호와께서 나를 보내사 너희의 들은바 모든 말로 이 집과 이 성을 쳐서 예언하게 하셨느니라
13그런즉 너희는 너희 길과 행위를 고치고 너희 하나님 여호와의 목소리를 청종하라 그리하면 여호와께서 너희에게 선고하신 재앙에 대하여 뜻을 돌이키시리라
14보라 나는 너희 손에 있으니 너희 소견에 선한대로, 옳은대로 하려니와
15너희는 분명히 알라 너희가 나를 죽이면 정녕히 무죄한 피로 너희 몸과 이 성과 이 성 거민에게로 돌아가게 하리라 이는 여호와께서 진실로 나를 보내사 이 모든 말을 너희 귀에 이르게 하셨음이니라
16방백들과 모든 백성이 제사장들과 선지자들에게 이르되 이 사람이 우리 하나님 여호와의 이름을 의탁하고 우리에게 말하였으니 죽음이 부당하니라
17때에 그 땅 장로 중 몇 사람이 일어나 백성의 온 회중에 말하여 가로되
18유다 왕 히스기야 시대에 모레셋 사람 미가가 유다 모든 백성에게 예언하여 가로되 만군의 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 시온은 밭 같이 경작함을 당하며 예루살렘은 무더기가 되며 이 전의 산은 수풀의 높은 곳들 같이 되리라 하였으나
19유다 왕 히스기야와 모든 유다가 그를 죽였느냐 히스기야가 여호와를 두려워하여 여호와께 간구하매 여호와께서 그들에게 선고한 재앙에 대하여 뜻을 돌이키지 아니하셨느냐 우리가 이같이 하면 우리 생명을 스스로 크게 해하는 일이니라
20또 여호와의 이름을 의탁하고 예언한 사람이 있었는데 곧 기럇여아림 스마야의 아들 우리야라 그가 예레미야의 모든 말과 같이 이 성과 이 땅을 쳐서 예언하매
21여호야김왕과 그 모든 용사와 모든 방백이 그 말을 듣고는 왕이 그를 죽이려 하매 우리야가 이를 듣고 두려워 애굽으로 도망하여 간지라
22여호야김왕이 사람을 애굽으로 보내되 곧 악볼의 아들 엘라단과 몇 사람을 함께 애굽으로 보내었더니
23그들이 우리야를 애굽에서 끌어 내어 여호야김왕께로 데려오매 왕이 칼로 그를 죽이고 그 시체를 평민의 묘실에 던지게 하였다 하니라
24사반의 아들 아히감이 예레미야를 보호하여 예레미야를 백성의 손에 내어주지 아니하여 죽이지 못하게 하니라
Jeremiah26
1Early in the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, this word came from the LORD :
2"This is what the LORD says: Stand in the courtyard of the LORD's house and speak to all the people of the towns of Judah who come to worship in the house of the LORD. Tell them everything I command you; do not omit a word.
3Perhaps they will listen and each will turn from his evil way. Then I will relent and not bring on them the disaster I was planning because of the evil they have done.
4Say to them, 'This is what the LORD says: If you do not listen to me and follow my law, which I have set before you,
5and if you do not listen to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I have sent to you again and again (though you have not listened),
6then I will make this house like Shiloh and this city an object of cursing among all the nations of the earth.' "
7The priests, the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speak these words in the house of the LORD.
8But as soon as Jeremiah finished telling all the people everything the LORD had commanded him to say, the priests, the prophets and all the people seized him and said, 'You must die!
9Why do you prophesy in the LORD's name that this house will be like Shiloh and this city will be desolate and deserted?" And all the people crowded around Jeremiah in the house of the LORD.
10When the officials of Judah heard about these things, they went up from the royal palace to the house of the LORD and took their places at the entrance of the New Gate of the LORD's house.
11Then the priests and the prophets said to the officials and all the people, 'This man should be sentenced to death because he has prophesied against this city. You have heard it with your own ears!'
12Then Jeremiah said to all the officials and all the people: 'The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and this city all the things you have heard.
13Now reform your ways and your actions and obey the LORD your God. Then the LORD will relent and not bring the disaster he has pronounced against you.
14As for me, I am in your hands; do with me whatever you think is good and right.
15Be assured, however, that if you put me to death, you will bring the guilt of innocent blood on yourselves and on this city and on those who live in it, for in truth the LORD has sent me to you to speak all these words in your hearing.'
16Then the officials and all the people said to the priests and the prophets, 'This man should not be sentenced to death! He has spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God.'
17Some of the elders of the land stepped forward and said to the entire assembly of people,
18"Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah. He told all the people of Judah, 'This is what the LORD Almighty says: " 'Zion will be plowed like a field, Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble, the temple hill a mound overgrown with thickets.'
19'Did Hezekiah king of Judah or anyone else in Judah put him to death? Did not Hezekiah fear the LORD and seek his favor? And did not the LORD relent, so that he did not bring the disaster he pronounced against them? We are about to bring a terrible disaster on ourselves!'
20(Now Uriah son of Shemaiah from Kiriath Jearim was another man who prophesied in the name of the LORD; he prophesied the same things against this city and this land as Jeremiah did.
21When King Jehoiakim and all his officers and officials heard his words, the king sought to put him to death. But Uriah heard of it and fled in fear to Egypt.
22King Jehoiakim, however, sent Elnathan son of Acbor to Egypt, along with some other men.
23They brought Uriah out of Egypt and took him to King Jehoiakim, who had him struck down with a sword and his body thrown into the burial place of the common people.)
24Furthermore, Ahikam son of Shaphan supported Jeremiah, and so he was not handed over to the people to be put to death.

One's last days in a mighty nation
에스겔31장
1제 십 일년 삼월 초 일일에 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 가라사대
2인자야 너는 애굽 왕 바로와 그 무리에게 이르기를 네 큰 위엄을 뉘게 비하랴
3볼찌어다 앗수르 사람은 가지가 아름답고 그늘은 삼림의 그늘 같으며 키가 높고 꼭대기가 구름에 닿은 레바논 백향목이었느니라
4물들이 그것을 기르며 깊은 물이 그것을 자라게 하며 강들이 그 심긴 곳을 둘러 흐르며 보의 물이 들의 모든 나무에까지 미치매
5그 나무가 물이 많으므로 키가 들의 모든 나무보다 높으며 굵은 가지가 번성하며 가는 가지가 길게 빼어났고
6공중의 모든 새가 그 큰 가지에 깃들이며 들의 모든 짐승이 그 가는 가지 밑에 새끼를 낳으며 모든 큰 나라가 그 그늘 아래 거하였었느니라
7그 뿌리가 큰 물가에 있으므로 그 나무가 크고 가지가 길어 모양이 아름다우매
8하나님의 동산의 백향목이 능히 그를 가리우지 못하며 잣나무가 그 굵은 가지만 못하며 단풍나무가 그 가는 가지만 못하며 하나님의 동산의 아무 나무도 그 아름다운 모양과 같지 못하였도다
9내가 그 가지로 많게 하여 모양이 아름답게 하였더니 하나님의 동산 에덴에 있는 모든 나무가 다 투기하였느니라
10그러므로 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 그의 키가 높고 꼭대기가 구름에 닿아서 높이 빼어났으므로 마음이 교만하였은즉
11내가 열국의 능한 자의 손에 붙일찌라 그가 임의로 대접할 것은 내가 그의 악을 인하여 쫓아 내었음이라
12열국의 강포한 다른 민족이 그를 찍어 버렸으므로 그 가는 가지가 산과 모든 골짜기에 떨어졌고 그 굵은 가지가 그 땅 모든 물 가에 꺾어졌으며 세상 모든 백성이 그를 버리고 그 그늘 아래서 떠나매
13공중의 모든 새가 그 넘어진 나무에 거하며 들의 모든 짐승이 그 가지에 있으리니
14이는 물 가에 있는 모든 나무로 키가 높다고 교만치 못하게 하며 그 꼭대기로 구름에 닿지 못하게 하며 또 물 대임을 받는 능한 자로 스스로 높아 서지 못하게 함이니 그들을 다 죽는데 붙여서 인생 중 구덩이로 내려가는 자와 함께 지하로 내려가게 하였음이니라
15나 주 여호와가 말하노라 그가 음부에 내려가던 날에 내가 그를 위하여 애곡하게 하며 깊은 바다를 덮으며 모든 강을 쉬게 하며 큰 물을 그치게 하고 레바논으로 그를 위하여 애곡하게 하며 들의 모든 나무로 그로 인하여 쇠잔하게 하였느니라
16내가 그로 구덩이에 내려가는 자와 함께 음부에 떨어뜨리던 때에 열국으로 그 떨어지는 소리를 인하여 진동하게 하였고 물 대임을 받은 에덴의 모든 나무 곧 레바논의 뛰어나고 아름다운 나무들로 지하에서 위로를 받게 하였느니라
17그러나 그들도 그와 함께 음부에 내려 칼에 살륙을 당한 자에게 이르렀나니 그들은 옛적에 그의 팔이 된 자요 열국 중에서 그 그늘 아래 거하던 자니라
18너의 영화와 광대함이 에덴 모든 나무 중에 어떤 것과 같은고 그러나 네가 에덴 나무와 함께 지하에 내려갈 것이요 거기서 할례 받지 못하고 칼에 살륙 당한 자 중에 누우리라 이들은 바로와 그 모든 군대니라 나 주 여호와의 말이니라 하라
Ezekiel31
1In the eleventh year, in the third month on the first day, the word of the LORD came to me:
2"Son of man, say to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to his hordes: " 'Who can be compared with you in majesty?
3Consider Assyria, once a cedar in Lebanon, with beautiful branches overshadowing the forest; it towered on high, its top above the thick foliage.
4The waters nourished it, deep springs made it grow tall; their streams flowed all around its base and sent their channels to all the trees of the field.
5So it towered higher than all the trees of the field; its boughs increased and its branches grew long, spreading because of abundant waters.
6All the birds of the air nested in its boughs, all the beasts of the field gave birth under its branches; all the great nations lived in its shade.
7It was majestic in beauty, with its spreading boughs, for its roots went down to abundant waters.
8The cedars in the garden of God could not rival it, nor could the pine trees equal its boughs, nor could the plane trees compare with its branches-no tree in the garden of God could match its beauty.
9I made it beautiful with abundant branches, the envy of all the trees of Eden in the garden of God.
10" 'Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because it towered on high, lifting its top above the thick foliage, and because it was proud of its height,
11I handed it over to the ruler of the nations, for him to deal with according to its wickedness. I cast it aside,
12and the most ruthless of foreign nations cut it down and left it. Its boughs fell on the mountains and in all the valleys; its branches lay broken in all the ravines of the land. All the nations of the earth came out from under its shade and left it.
13All the birds of the air settled on the fallen tree, and all the beasts of the field were among its branches.
14Therefore no other trees by the waters are ever to tower proudly on high, lifting their tops above the thick foliage. No other trees so well-watered are ever to reach such a height; they are all destined for death, for the earth below, among mortal men, with those who go down to the pit.
15" 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: On the day it was brought down to the grave I covered the deep springs with mourning for it; I held back its streams, and its abundant waters were restrained. Because of it I clothed Lebanon with gloom, and all the trees of the field withered away.
16I made the nations tremble at the sound of its fall when I brought it down to the grave with those who go down to the pit. Then all the trees of Eden, the choicest and best of Lebanon, all the trees that were well-watered, were consoled in the earth below.
17Those who lived in its shade, its allies among the nations, had also gone down to the grave with it, joining those killed by the sword.
18" 'Which of the trees of Eden can be compared with you in splendor and majesty? Yet you, too, will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the earth below; you will lie among the uncircumcised, with those killed by the sword. " 'This is Pharaoh and all his hordes, declares the Sovereign LORD.' "
